Double Bass C Extension capo noise

It depends on how it's made. Do you have the type where a 1/4" cap screw goes through a wood finger? Show us a picture. In this case the resistance comes from pressure from the screw head. There may be washers which have worn, etc. In this case I think graphite is what you need. You just have to tighten it back down afterward at the right place to provide the desired resistance.
