Very true. I can't remember the exact cost but the cover for my cab was at least $150, maybe even $200. Granted it is very protective and fits like a glove so well worth the cost IMO.

Cab Covers - Yes Or No?

Very true. I can't remember the exact cost but the cover for my cab was at least $150, maybe even $200. Granted it is very protective and fits like a glove so well worth the cost IMO.
I just take my cover back out to my car after I get it in place on stage. Then when it's time to pack up I go get it out of my car. Pretty easy.
Yep...the material they use is thick enough so its durable and has some light padding, but can still be folded up and out of the way. They even added a strap for me.
I used to be in the "No" camp, but my previous cabs all had ripped up tolex and were very road worn. I've had two rat fur 4x10's, a Carvin and a David Eden, and I didn't really care how beat up they got. My two different 8x10's were absolutely ripped to shreds.
However, I now have two Aguilar 1x12's with the monster green tolex. It looks awesome, and I'd hate for them to get messed up, so yes.

I love relic'ed basses, but want my cabs to be pristine. Not sure what the difference is. Now, if the back line is supplied (and sufficient) I don't care. I guess the exception is with an old SVT and matching cab. That can be beat up.
This is a drawback of the stiffer foam-laden covers, but at a good share of our gigs there usually is some back room we throw cases in. The more fold-able covers I simply fold up and shove into my pedal board bag or utility case, or I hide it behind the amp.
Covers for all. If I'm paying $700 - $2K for a cabinet, I'm going to cover it. Even a $70 cover from LeCover does wonders in keeping dust, rain and any other stuff off the cab and potentially the speakers themselves.
Protects other’s homes during load in/out if you do the house concert circuit. Tuki padded cover bump by a cab is nothing. Bash/dent/chip some molding and you won’t be playing there again.
It does add to the resale value. It has covers, it is pristine and cared for and you can do the cover’s cost in damage with one minor bump.
Say you’re on next. Do you need people fiddling with your controls absentmindedly?
Small pub gigs I take covers out to car.
If you were Punky of the Cherry People you kept the cover on your top 4x12 Marshall cab while cranking it. It would breathe in and out.
Besides, thanks to this poll we know who to buy used gear from.

Yeah, I think we can all agree that we're not gonna provide protective covers for someone else's provided amps and cabinets.
There are very few clubs (I can only think of one venue) where there is no room to store my covers. So I just take off the cover as I'm unloading the cab and leave it in the truck.

I always use covers. I can't count the number of times something like rain/snow or a drum stick or 1/4" cable were prevented from damaging a speaker during load in or load out by a simple cover.
I like covers. I will buy the factory cover if available. Otherwise, just a simple vinyl cover made to fit properly will suffice. I just want to keep the rain and snow off, nicks and scuffs at bay and as mentioned earlier, it's a great way to protect the walls and corners in your house when moving them in and out.
Roadcase for an 810 fridge? I guess if there is a quick-connect system for a trailer axle and hitch.
