cab/head speaker cable

i read an FAQ on tunemybass.com about how i would need a special cable for connecting my head and my cab. (it also mentions that using an instrument cable can cause damage)

where could i get on of those??? (and what company makes them?)

You can get them at any music store, or online, such as at Musician's Friend.

They should be all over the place. Decent music stores will have them, and so will bad ones. Plus most on-line places that sell gear will have them as well, except you'll probably pay more for "shipping and handling" than the cable's worth if that's the only thing you buy.

You don't need a long one, and at short lengths, gauge isn't really that large an issue. So, any decent speaker cable from 3' to about 6' long would do fine. I would stay away from anything smaller than 16 ga., but you don't need a 12 ga. cable either. I won't waste my money on hyped stuff like Monster either. In fact, all my speaker cables are ones I've built myself. I bought about 25' of Belden speaker cable years ago from the local store that does most of the permanent PA installations, and a selection of connectors. I now have cables with varioud combinations of 1/4", Speakon, and Bananna plugs for all my amps and cabinets.
