Cab suggestion: Orange OBC112 or OBC115?

I recently bought an Orange Terror Bass and am now trying to decide which cab to use with it.
I will use it in a four piece band (guitar/ vocals, keys, drums, bass). We play classic rock and plan on playing gigs in the near future.
Which of the two cabs would you suggest as a stand-alone solution for gigging and band practice?

For what you describe, unless you have good PA support, I'd say a 4x10. A 1x15 is roughly equal to a 2x10 and a 1x12 less so.

You might also consider a pair of 12s or a pair of 15s; then you will have a modular system. Take one cab when the volume will low, and take both when you need to blow the doors off. As far as which is better...my advice is use your own ears; you may even decide the 410 is best. I would rather have a pair of traditional 210s personally, and do a vertical stack.

If you want something more portable there are plenty of lightweight 410 options, AFAIK they aren't made by Orange. Good luck with your new amp, but you need more speaker surface area.

Normally I would agree with everyone, but I have actually done shows with just 1 OBC115 and the Terror Bass with no issues whatsoever. I play in a pretty loud hard rock/metal band and was pretty surprised and happy I was able to pull it off with just 1 OBC115 with plenty of volume to spare. I would not even try with the 112.

So far, I'd pick the OBC115 just because there's a bit of an air moving/pant leg flapping advantage, of course it weighs more than twice as much & is bulkier. I haven't exposed the OBC112 to a band setting yet & I've actually used the OBC115 & the PF500 & the departed OB1-500 w/ a pretty loud 3 piece hardcore thing w/o issues, so there's that too.

I could see 2xOBC112s working out great though. For me it would be a lot easier to manage than one OBC115 & you've got your full 500 watts w/ that too.

If you don't have PA support, the 112 alone probably won't cut it for gigs. A pair of them will cover a smaller room, but one probably won't do the job. They are loud little cabs.

Hiho ,I use a tb500 the original one full power all the time.
I use an OBC115 most of the time and have never been caught short for volume.I use a SP212 the isobaric one and again more than you need.I prefer the sound of the OBC115 but that,s my ears.I use an aluminium trolley to cart it about.

Keep in mind the OBC 112 has a strong neodymium magnet and delivers quite impressive sound pressure; the driver alone moves about as much air as a pair of 10" ferrite drivers by the same builder (LaVoce). Those little cabs really are quite loud, while still going surprisingly deep, especially if you use a pair.

I play a single just fine in our rehearsal space, a pair for gigging. (Current Terror Bass as a head.) We play alternative rock / metal covers with a loud guitar player and drummer. We do own a small PA though, with a little of the bass fed through it. I'd probably go for a pair of OBC 115 if I had absolutely no PA support rather than the 2x112, but they're just so easy to carry …

Just to (add?) clarify on this subject of: Orange OBC115 + the Orange OBC112. I am in the market for a pair of either or (can't decide just yet) to hook up to the "Little Bass Thing" for early Zeppelin, Deep Purple MK II, Alan Parson's Project, BOC, and add in the "Three Kings". Any suggestions and why?
