Cab suggestions for Mesa Subway D-800+

2X15 showed up today…
For what I paid, honestly feeling underwhelmed at the initial unboxing.
Packing seemed like it could’ve been better, especially for something as heavy as the 2X15. Luckily, no damage, even though the box suffered through shipping. The included cover was in the box, in a separate bag, instead of on the speaker cab itself during transit. Seems like a lack of logic there.
Not sure if I got a dud, but there are some fit/finish issues. There seems to be excess glue at seams, & joints where brackets meet vinyl.
Also, while one wheel feels good & sturdy, the other feels wobbly & kinda janky.
This is the wheel that feels good, notice the lack of excess glue & spacing between wheel housing and corner bracket.

Will be returning. Just don’t know if I should wait for a replacement, or accept this as a sign, & go with Barefaced next time around. Hmmm..

Sorry to hear about this. Contact our customer service folks and they will help you get this resolved.

The foam inserts in the high strength carton are very secure for shipping, we rarely see damage. The cardboard is very robust.

We don’t ship with the covers on any speaker (or guitar amps) as they become wrinkled when they sit on the foam pads.

My box arrived with this giant gash in it. Besides the foam inserts, there was only a VERY thin plastic slip over the cabinet. It somehow made it without damage.
But I’m surprised it passed Quality Control. Again, It’s possible I’m the ONE person who got something that wasn’t completely stellar…
Other than that, it seems like it would’ve been very nice.
The wheel is something I can’t overlook, being one of the main reasons I chose the 2X15.

If there’s a defective wheel, we will simply send you a replacement wheel. No problem.

The plastic bag and desiccant is required to protect against humidity while shipping and in storage, as well as anti-friction interface to protect the vinyl against rubbing damage while shipping all around the world.

From the outside, there appears to be a lot of glue holding the wheel housing in place. I’m not sure I want to risk making things worse, be attempting to remove the wheel. Definitely don’t feel comfortable about getting a glue gun involved, if that’s required on repairing this issue. Not sure if I’m overthinking it, but I feel my concerns are valid, in not wanting to make things worse.

Ok, then your dealer will be able to help you resolve this.

The glue isn't holding the wheel in place, it's attached by the screws.

Thanks! I work a swing shift unfortunately, so it’s too late by the time I get home, & too early before work. Gotta wait for the weekend.
Was only able to do a thorough walk around/inspection

I’ve had a little time to see what this cab can do. This thing is a BEAST!
My little house starts to shake & rattle, with very little volume. I can only imagine what it can do given some room to open up. It’s a hefty cab. It’s light for what it is, but I wouldn’t want anything heavier. I can’t help but wonder if I should’ve gone modular.
Buts that’s a bit of a conundrum comparing one cab with wheels vs two cabs & no wheels. Valid pros/cons on both sides.
Can’t help but wonder if the Super Twin would’ve been a happy medium, or even a pair of Super Compacts for modularity.
However, as good as those may be, this 2X15 appears to be in another realm.
It gives a good argument in overlooking that it’s a single 60lb cab.
This is a SIGNIFICANT purchase for me. Want to make sure it’s the right choice, because whatever I choose, that’s it.

It took several weeks, but Mesa Boogie finally sent me a replacement wheel.
Good news is that this one feels solid & sturdy, and not janky like the one that shipped on the cab.
Bad news is that they sent one with a hefty dent in the wheel…really?
Sent an email a few days ago, no reply.
Called yesterday, no answer.
Trying to stay positive, but this is kinda ridiculous. I hope it’s all worth it in the end

I’ve been using the Mesa 800D+ for awhile now and have you a combination of cabs. I had the Subway 112, 210 and 115. I tried two of each as well as mixing them. My favorite combination was the 210 on top of the 115. After some time I wanted to try out the Revsound 212T which I am currently using.

I'm going to do a comparison video with my both the D800+ and TH700. The Super Twin has the built in casters, and both of these cabs are pretty light weight. I went this direction since the depth of the cab was under 14" which makes it much easier to fit into the backdoor/backseat or under the tonneau cover of my truck bed.
