Okay to make this short and simple... Im doing bar gigs I play metal and old school rock. I am currently borrowing a friends rig and have honestly never bought a cab/head setup. I did some research but im tired of looking at products and cant make up my mind on anything except the head. Bugera BVP550 (head) is what I plan on getting. The question is the cab. What should I pair with this. 550 watts@4ohms 350 @8ohms (only the 550 watts is official, I was told it does 350@8 but cant verify that. Was looking at an Ashdown 414t and Ampeg SVT410he. I dont really want to spend much over 600$ on the cab but willing to go over a little. I think at this point I just want someone to tell me what to get... Perfectionist should never ever learn bass. Please help.

Cab suggestions plz

Avatars are the best cab under $600 that I know of unless you go LDS . An 8 ohm 212 or 410 cab from either ought to be enough for most bar gigs with that head ,that way you can add a cab later if one doesn't always give you enough volume all the time . I'd take either an Avatar or a LDS cab before either of the cabs you are looking at . The LDS cab that Craig S has in the classifieds would be a good match too .
i think either would be cool but a 410 would be slightly louder (not be a whole lot though) and are a lot easier to find good ones for cheap on the used market.
The Ampeg and Ashdown are both good brands I've been told, but you might want to look into your choice of head better. If it sounds good to you, brilliant. Just saying that because they don't exactly get a lot of respect about these parts. ;D Maybe an Ashdown head to match with the Ashdown cab?
+1 on the 15/6+1 fEarful... someday you will get a better amp, but you'll keep the fEarful for the rest of your life.

Im not ready to build my own yet (rather have someone who knows what they are doing do it). But someday... And I think bugera gets a bad rap just for being behringer, but I have heard nothing but good things about the BVP 550 (many good review too), and the bad things i have heard were just sweeping generalizations about how bad behringer is, and not about the head in question. The only other head I think I would consider at this point is the Carvin bx500.
Get a Hartke HX410 $300-400 used or B-stock and the tone is super sweet. fEarful cabs sound sweet but if you don't have any experience with woodworking and stuff and you don't have money to burn or a serious interest in doing I'd stick with the pre-fabricated stuff out there 
. If you dig the whole bass driver/mid driver/horn setup look into Schroeder, Accugroove or LDS cabs I know they all have cabs like that.
I kind of did the thing that I'm not too fond of: Blindly suggesting what I like without actually getting any info first. To remedy that, let me ask, what do you want to sound like? Different cabs have different tonal attributes that can drastically alter your tone.

Looks like your going to get all kinds of suggestions. So, without further a due I recommend the Carvin BRX10.4 neo cab. Under $600 and sounds very good.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with DR Bass Cabs as long as you buy used. Do not Buy DR Bass New. I have a pair of DR Bass cabs and I really like the way they sound so if you can find them used go for it.
Okay so after doing my homework I think I'm sold on the Avatar cabs. Question is how to have them build it. Tolex gets damaged easy right? And i have never liked my cab looking like a wolly mammoth so carpet is out. Is the line-x covering worth the extra? And is there a sound difference between carpet and metal grill cover? And will someone plz answer my questions about 212 and 410 sound? Im learning as I go here if you cant tell...
