8 ohms so does not meet the OPs parameters. But a pair presents a 4 ohm load and works fabulously IMHO.

There's a lot of engineering under the hood of that cabinet, used premium drivers and it was an expensive cabinet.

This was a brute force solution, also very expensive but it worked pretty well too. There is another disadvantage... weight. I think this cabinet weighed in at well over 150 lbs (IIRC).

I remember trying to justify buying one of those, but I couldn’t. I has a PH115 and PH212 at the time and thought those were heavy enough to move, and plenty loud for my applications. I’m surprised I couldn’t argue myself into it though.

---edited for clarity: I was unable to get this cabinet to produce a sound that I could be happy with. I never cared for the sound of Scorpions or Black Widows and so was not enthused about getting one of these, but when I first went on the road the BL really pushed me to get a bigger rig to replace my 120W combo almost immediately and this was the only thing I could afford to get that quickly.
I probably only had to play through it for a few months, but it felt like sooo much longer. I'm not bitter though. Well, I'm not that bitter.

I remember in the 1970s there was a period when having a more complicated speaker for your stereo was considered a good thing. What have a 2 way or 3 way speaker when you could have 5-way like this Sansui pair? I can’t imagine all the audible side effects from the complicated crossovers and so many drivers. I sure wouldn’t want a bass cab like this….

Not to be undone, here’s some Pioneer 4-way speakers from the same era. Notice the grilles were designed to be easily removed so you could show off those speakers to your friends and family :woot:

Joking aside, the eich amp I linked has the spectrum to handle a wide array of sounds.

You could probably look into powered pa cabs or something along those lines and create your own chain if you’re looking to experiment.

I believe it's no longer the trend, because speakers have improved a lot since, so now you can get very large frequency spectrum for each speaker size so you don't have to do that any longer, and you don't have to deal with cross-overs.

Why are you looking for this specific kind of cabinet, what's the purpose?
