Double Bass Cabinet for AI Clarus 2R

I use a Bergantino HT-112 with my Focus 2R. I think it's the best small cabinet around. The only 110 I've ever been happy with is the Euphonic Audio VL-110(unfortunately discontinued.) It has a five inch midrange in addition to the woofer and tweeter. The transmission line cabinet also helps. All of the VL series cabinets were fantastic. I still use a VL-210 with my EB(Skjold).

George,
What pickup and amplifier did you use to drive the EA VL-110? I could never get it to sound right with the Realist and either of my Walter Woods amps. Thus it sits, unloved, in the basement. Generally, I love the EA VL stuff. Especially the VL 108 and 208. I also used a VL 210 on a concert and dug it as well.

Hey guys, I was wondering what you like to use cab wise with an AI(I am kinda leaning away from AI cabs.) I am partial to the midrandge kick of 10'' speakers. Any suggestions?

I am extremely happy with my Raezer's Edge Bass 10 (22 pounds). I drive it with an Acoustic Image SL and, when necessary, an Acoustic Image Focus III. Haven't been moved to try the EA gear as yet.

Ric,

I used an Acoustic Image Clarus 2 and then later a Focus 2. I loved the sound as long as I didn't have to push it too hard. I'm using a Full Circle on my Pollmann, and I really don't find a need for any extra preamp/buffer. I currently like the Bergantino HT-112 because I can get more volume without it feeling strained.

Also, there were five versions of the VL-110 (A-B-C-D-E models). I've had both an "A" model and a "D" model. The latter sounds much better than the first(earlier) model. I believe the last version (E) only added a Speakon connector. If anyone is looking for one on Ebay, I would advise them to check the serial number for the model letter. The D and E versions would be the latest and best.
