Cabinet help

Hi All. I currently play on a Trace Elliot AH-500-7 through a 4ohm 4x10 cabinet. I want more low end and want to increase the size of my rig and want to incorporate another cabinet. I know I can't just go out and buy any old cabinet as the OHM issue comes into play. is there a way to add a cabinet to my stack without having to replace both to achieve 4 ohm? i am a bit confused on what my options are. i want another 4x10 cab or a 15 to add to my stack to fill out my sound but am stuck at this crossroad. any and all help is appreciated!!!

I am not familiar with the Trace specs, but it sounds like you understand it correctly.

IF you amp has a solid state final section, AND it is designed to push no lower than a 4 ohm load ... your existing 4 ohm cabinet is taking all the power your amp can deliver.

If you want more volume, you need some different tools. Or tell the hearing-impaired guitar players to turn down.

Sell the 4 ohm 410, get an 8 ohm 410+115 (Or another variation, I would go with two 410's).

another option would be to get a poweramp that can handle 4 ohms per side (most do that) and then get another cab.

You can rewire your 16 ohm speakers in series parallel to get the ohms to be 16 ohms, which might give you more options?

Sell the cab and get a larger 4 ohm cab such as an 810 or a 412 cab. This would be cheaper then buying two 410 cabs by a long shot unless you are looking for used gear. A bigger 4 ohm cab will yield the most significant increase in volume in your case. You may be able to sell the cab you have and find something twice as big for only a bit more money.
