cabinet? preamp? zoom?

hello every one. im new on this thing of preparing your own gig, so I have a big question.

I own a Zoom b2.1U which is great!. I have been using it with headphones and with my bass (a not so good squier jazz)since I bought it because I have no amp whatsoever. so my question is, if I only buy a cabinet (not a combo amp, not a cabinet with a head amp, just a cabinet like this one for example :

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Behringer-Ultrabass-BB115-600-Watt-1x15-Bass-Cabinet?sku=600610

will it work? or it would be useless??i ask this question because the B2.1U has a direct out XLR and it says in the manual that this Zoom unit works as a "preamp" (Thought i still dont know what a preamp really does), it also says that while using the XLR it has two modes, the first one is previous to the effects modulation and has a 200 ohms output and the other one is post effects (but it does not say anything about the ohms).
