Whatever you do don't buy any Monster cables.
I have a fairly expensive Mogami, very nice, but something like this should work for you.

Easy to see when everything else is black.

I see people hating on monster a lot on websites like this.... But I've yet to have a problem with them in almost 7 years, and so far the only cable that I notice a positive difference sound wise, any other one I've tried sounds the same or slightly different where it's not that noticeable. Monster patch cables are overpriced and not flexible though.

Planet Waves has different quality levels. The nicer ones are nicer. Sam Ash will swap them no questions asked due to the Planet Waves warranty. Every PW cable comes with that warranty, as far as I know. I like that.

I also have some cables from Monoprice that are nice and going on about 3 years. They are cheap, but only if you're buying enough stuff to offset the shipping.

Anything that isn't super cheap. I go middle and used. I live in Japan so I use canare, which is Canare plugs with mogami cable I believe. They are about 25 bucks new for 10 or 15 foot cable, but since I buy used, 10 bucks. Had them a few for years and they have never crapped out. I don't believe in expensive cables. Been down that road with headphones. Maybe I just don't have the ears for anything more expensive. As long as they have good parts and construction.

Otherwise roll your own. I go mogami with neutrik ends. Just as good as anything twice or three times the price plug wise.

The only cables I have ever had fail are Monsters, and they nearly ALL failed. Excepting a three foot speaker cable, my old band had to replace every Monster cable we ever used. Every single guitar cable died a quick death. We stopped using them and our guitarist started making his own.

I hear no difference between cables and I guarantee the audience doesn't either. I don't even remember the brand of cable I use - it's whatever my friend stocks in his shop. Whatever brand it is, none of them have ever failed. I have only had to replace cables that I lost (usually loaned out and not returned).
