my earliest memory is of trying to make a cup of tea, at my peak in my student days i was drinking 15/20 cups a day, im down to about 10 now.

dont drink coffee very often, just to keep me awake while driving at night or when im hung over, so actually quite often then.

caffeine water - UGH! Revolting idea!

I remember a few years ago I saw nicotine water for sale. That must be a taste sensation :hmm:

I survive on an unhealthy amount of caffeine. I just simply cannot get on without it. It really sucks, and sometimes it actually has a negative effect, to actually make me more tired...and if I'm away from it too long, I get profoundly bad headaches. But thing is, I just don't stop...I've been gigging 3-4 times a week, a full day job, and family / home matters. Not really complaining, just need to bolster my lack of recoup-time in some way....(I know I'll get to sleep again some day. :smug: )

im feeling you pain, getting back from a show at 4 in the morning and going into the office for 8:30 is not ideal

I drink 2-5 cups a day. Oddly enough, caffeine doesn't seem to effect me in a noticable way, but I know it has some effect.

No soda or tea for this guy.

Coffee has become my vice since I stopped drinking and smoking. So I only traded addictions. ;)

Can't they kick you out of Washington for that?

Yeah. Many of us have been forced underground. Sometimes, I carry around an empty Starbucks cup just to be safe.

My wife and I have a nice setup for brewing coffee at home and making espresso. She uses it daily. I only do when we have people over who want a drink.

Mmm, I love coffee, but I usually don't drink it for the caffeine, same with tea. I'm an utter snob when it comes to those two. Got so many boxes of Gevalia at home it's kinda silly, and I found a fantastic Ginger Pu-erh tea that I've been enjoying immensely. That pu-erh is strong stuff though, most tea doesn't give me much of a buzz but that stuff'll keep me going all night. I also really like White tea if I want something milder. It's like green, but tastes better in my opinion. Also hella-expensive and hard to find depending on where you are. So worth it though :D

i drink a lot of green tea. does that have caffeine in it?

Green tea has about 1/4 - 1/2 the amount of caffeine as an equivalent cup of coffee. Green tea has about 35mg in a 6 oz cup. Regular coffee has about 80-135mg in a 7 oz cup.

Like most chemicals it is all about total dosage. From what I've seen in toxicology reports, up to about 6mg/kg/day (around 3mg/lb/day) is not associated with adverse health effects.

I drink a travel mug of iced coffee every day, and usually a cup of green tea at night.

On days I skip, I don't notice any difference. I do miss the delicous Peets coffee though.

:D

It has been years since I've drank more, but when I did exceed the above, the caffeine definitely wired me out. Buzzzzzzzz...

Say it ain't so...you quit the Peets?

I love fresh good quality coffee. And I'm addicted because I can't really think straight in the morning until I've had coffee. Bad for me probably, but I don't care to quit or cut down in the near future. Drinking some Starbucks right now as I type this ;)

My brother works for Tazo Tea, a subsidiary of Starbucks, so I get the occasional bag from him... I live in Newberg, Oregon which has a small, award-winning coffee company called Caravan Coffee. I am friends with the head 'roister' who has educated me in what makes one bean superior to another. (If you ever get a chance to attend a traditional 'cupping', by all means, do!)... The leader of my Roots/Rock band roasts his own beans and makes a obscenely good cup... Yeah, I drink alot, and it's still not enough!!
