Calendar

The calendar is stuck in 2006 and 2007.

It's great usefulness and heavy use must've crashed it. You know, the thousands of TB'ers posting their gigs, and the even more thousands of TB'ers and visitors clicking on that link several times a day- providing the ultimate in high visibility gig promotion.

It's so much better than threads for gigspam in an appropriate forum.:hmm:

Sorry about that. I've just taken it down. A gigspam forum would be cool, but not very easy to find *local* gigs to you, unless you search for each city/town in your area (but that would most likely turn up a bunch of matches for past events).

I have an idea that I'm working on with some programmers, that should solve all this (uses the Google Maps API....)

Paul- this is from a PM I sent to Ivar-

is this rule something that can be changed? (via poll vote or decision of the forum moderators or Paul?) This is my thought- virtually NO ONE uses the calendar. Even the (few) people that use the calendar only use it to post- NOT to browse. If I'm at home, bored- cruising TB and see that someone's playing there is a chance that might motivate me to go out. (Sort of like candy in the checkout aisle at the grocery store- not thinking I want candy until it's right in my face.) On the other hand there is a 100% chance that I will NOT check the calendar to look for something to do.
