Cali76 only smaller?

MELF resistors are SMD, so your speculation is correct. I am assuming that they used metal film MELF resistors instead of carbon MELF's for better noise spec's. But, a lot of people believe that there is sonic mojo in carbon resistors, so I may be wrong on the type used. Also, by running the circuits hotter (more current) there will be less noise. So this little guy may actually be quieter than its bigger brother.

I have a few more comp designs that I want to produce, so you will have a chance to own more if you wish.;) I will always be a fan of good or interesting compressors, so take my biased enthusiasm with a grain of salt.:)

Frank - have you thought about adding a transformer to any of your comps? Like a Transboost / DE-CL combo where the warmth knob introduces transformer saturation?

Or the DB-CL with a transformer? Come on, one more knob, what can it hurt?

I'll have a DB-CL waiting for me in NYC when I go at the end of the month. I have to admit, I am a bit scared of all the knobs.... Since it's your favorite of the bunch Shu (you haven't tried the Opti-Fet though right?) I am pretty darn psyched for it.

Have u tried the full size germanium boost with parallel, clean blend?

If I could have found a Cali76 G-P I would have bought one, but I believe the limited edition run is sold out. :(

I guess that's OK. I'm very interested in the smaller Compact Bass one. And I'm also interested in the new Darkglass compressor.

I'm also EXTREMELY happy with my Empress Compressor... I don't need to look elsewhere, but GAS is what it is.

Nah - they are still for sale on the Origin Effects site.

Sadly, no. It's still on the main products page, but when you click the Buy button you are directed to the Cali76 G-P info page, which says:

Webstore Cali76-G-P stock
has now been pre-sold!

The majority of stock is still available
via our dealer network.

Production is in process and stock will
be shipped throughout April.

Please refer to the Invalid Link Removed page...

That said, I've just inquired with Origin directly to see whether they can point me to one, or maybe have a spare sitting around.

No prob, I completely understand: the only reason I saw that "Sold out" message was because I clicked the "Buy" button!

EXCELLENT, thank you.

Hey, thanks. I'm glad it's an option, but I will see about the G-P first.
