Hey talkbass folks.
I've been in cahoots with Scott Beckwith for the last week or two (and I've been compulsively GASing over his gorgeous basses for far longer), and I FINALLY have the money saved to purchase a Birdsong Cortobass!
Unfortunately, I've only ever seen pictures of them.
Scott does offer a 7 day return policy, so I could buy blind, but I hate the idea of requesting a build, having it arrive, and then having to send it back because it and I just don't fit together. I stolidly believe the only real way to tell if you and a bass work together is to hold one in your hands and play your heart out on it for a couple hours.
So with that in mind, are there any gracious, wonderful, amazing bassists within a couple hours of New Lebanon, NY (upstate on the boarder of MA) that happen to own a fretted Birdsong Cortobass and would be willing to let a hopeful future Birdsong owner play around with it for a bit?
I would be so amazingly grateful, and could bring cookies or something similar to pay off my very big debt of thanks!
Post here or PM me and I'll send you my number so we can talk in person.
Thank you very much to anyone who can help!
In eager anticipation,
-Chris
