Calling all metal 5-stringers!!!!

I play in a sludgey metal band www.facebook.com/burrowsct . I'm a bass player, but I also play and write alot on guitar that I tune down to B which I've been doing for years.

Bass gear:
- Ibanez SR1205 natural 5 string bass w/ Aguilar onboard 3band preamp
- Ibanez SR1205 transparent black 5 string bass (backup)
- SIT powersteels 45-125
- Gallien-Krueger 1001RB amp
- Ampeg 6x10 cabinet
- custom-made pedalboard: Boss TU-2 tuner, Dan Armstrong Compressor clone (I built), Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi for bass, Electro Harmonix Octave multiplexer, Boss DD-7 Delay w/ tap tempo pedal (I built), Boss PS-3 Pitchshifter/Delay, BYOC Reverb (I built), Digitech Jamman Looper/Sampler w/ footswitch (I built)

Let's see...

1. Mesa M2K Basis --> SWR 12 Stack
2. Aggie DB-359 --> Aggie GS410 + Aggie GS115
3. Mark Bass LMII --> (2) Aggie GS112's
4. GK 2001RB --> Aggie GS410 + Aggie GS115
5. GK 2001RB --> (2) Aggie GS112's
6. Ampeg SVP-Pro + Crest CA4 --> (2) Aggie GS112's

I play a Modulus Q5, a Sadowsky NYC PJ5, and an EMBB Stingray 4. I've also got a Warwick Thumb 5 Bo laying around that I need to fix. I'm more than happy playing any of them, with heavy favoring going to the Modulus or Sadowsky on most days.

For band practice I usually just run my bass into my pedalboard, then into a Radial JDI straight into the board and wear headphones. It sounds awesome.

I'd like to add a Berg NV610 one of these days, and another tube amp would be nice.

That's alot of gear BassGod! Which is your favorite for the ultra-low stuff?

It's just a list of what I have used...I'm not using it all at once, although I can see how it reads that way.

Everything that I have used worked/works great. So far the GK is probably my favorite tone, and I think I like 10" speakers the best, but 12's work great too...

The Ampeg/Crest rig is all new stuff, so I haven't tried it yet. Hopefully it will exceed my expectations. I should have all of it by next week...

Personally, I've yet to perfect my own B-string tone, but so far I'm fairly happy running my five string through my Warwick Head into a Peavey Black Widow 18" speaker cabinet. It's not ultra deep sounding, but it gets enough lows in to distinguish which octave you're playing in while doing a great job at cutting through my guitarist's wall of fuzz. Oh, and I suppose the rest of my gear would be the Q-Tuner pickups in my bass (jazz styled bass with humbuckers), and Nickel D'addario strings (Custom gages so I can have my .145 B).

I trade gear like I change my underwear.....
currently Mesa BB750 through a Mesa 610 with a dozen basses, but mostly Tobias with Bartolinis, Stingray with Glockenklang and Nordstoms, and Spector with EMGs and Aguilar OBP1. Im really wanting to switch to the new micro Ampeg stack or Ampeg 7 pro
