Calling All White Falcons

Well - I tried doing all the research I could, went through threads that are years old, looked through YouTube, and got only one piece of info and not enough.

So - I will try the direct route.

I am about so close to making a purchase of a Gretsch White Falcon that the credit card is already wailing.

But I have one question. How do they sound unplugged? I travel some and having something that sounds nice w/o an amp to just jam or play along on YouTube with the laptop would be nice. I have the Epi Jack Casady silver burst, nice but a bit quiet, I have tried the Gretsch 5132 which was the GC bass - louder but unbalanced to the D and G string in volume and tone. The Ibanez Artcore and the new Gibby Midtown both failed outright. Ovation makes something that is loud and nice - but loses that vintage vibe

So, if anyone that has ever tried one or has one could clue me in - much appreciated.

Thanx in advance!

- Ziggy -
