Buddy of mine (trombone player) worked with Pony in Frankfurt Germany (bone player was in the Harmy). Tyrone said that sometimes, by the last set, Pony was too drunk to get up from his stool at the bar, so he'd play the set from there. And STILL play his ass off...

everytime I start to build a callouse it gets ripped off fo rreasonsons mentioned by paul. The dryness makes them very "catchy" haha...

This has got to be one of the grossest threads ever! Anyways, the ladies dig the callouses... nice rough hands and all...

Ever see Milt Hinton's hands? Looked like two leathery gloves, especially his right hand from all the slappity slap. Dennis Irwin has crazy fingertips, too. His left hand has huge balls at the tips of every finger. THAT'S the way a REAL bass player's hands should be.

Well I haven't found the ladies diggin the callouses too much but they do dig the strong hands ;-) lovin' it.
