Can anyone here speak/read Quebec French?

Can anyone give me a translation of this song/poem?

bon. bon, bon, darion darion darion, bon
Ho ! La Gargarançonne Bibournoise, bon bon,
Faisons le saut de la Gargarançonne Bibournoise.

My dear friend takes guard, takes guard has your small jug, the glin glou glon Because if you there enivres, one put to you in prison, Bibournoise Because if you there enivres, one will put to you in prison All at the bottom of the cellar, barrels for companions So the barrels smash, will have you with the chin You will have to drink the cup, to touch there at the bottom The floor of the cellar, is in ham districts The walls of the cellar, are roasts of sheep The leaves of the trap door, are thighs of turkeys Will be necessary for pout you to leave there, ten sausage rods To five has six fellows, to draw you from the bottom Bibournoise, are this peas of the bines Broad beans of bacon and onion, There is not the glin glou glon, good good good, good. good, good, darion darion darion, good Ho! Gargarançonne Bibournoise, good good, Let us make the jump of Gargarançonne Bibournoise

That's what Babelfish gave me :)

Perhaps someone can translate the lyrics in this song for me.

Yes this is a blatant thread hijack plus a sharing of one of my all time favorite sketch comedy skits.

That's Alouette, it's a very common song in both French and Quebec culture.

Alouette, gentille alouette
Alouette, je te plumerai.
Je te plumerai le bec
Et le bec, et le bec
Alouette, alouette!
Ah Ah Ah Ah !

Alouette, gentille alouette
Alouette, je te plumerai.
Je te plumerai le cou
Et le cou, et le cou
Et le bec, et le bec
Alouette, alouette!
Ah Ah Ah Ah !

After cou and bec, we usually add tête, ventre, queue, pattes, etc.

This is all proper international French. Translate away, my friend.

Just use Google's translation thingy.

It comes out in perfectly clear English.

My dear friend take care, take care a ton cruchon the glin glou Glon
Because if you get drunk, we t'mettra in prison
The Bibournoise
Because if you get drunk, we t'mettra in prison
Deep in the cellar, barrels for companions
So break the barrels, t'en auras chin
You'll have to drink the cup, to touch the bottom
The floor of the cave, is neighborhood of ham
The walls of the cave are roasts of lamb
The wings of the trap are turkey thighs
Pout will recover, ten yards of sausages
A five or six guys to lift yourself from the bottom

The Bibournoise, is it peas of bines
Beans and bacon l'oignon,
Is he not glin glou Glonn, good good good
good. good, good, darion darion darion, good
Ho! The Gargarançonne Bibournoise, bon bon,
Let's break the Gargarançonne Bibournoise.

You know, Cruchon the glin glou Glon!

"Cruchon" the "glin-glou-Glon"

Everybody, sing a long!

I don't want to know what "t'mettra" means.
"ten yards of sausages"??

My dear friend, watch out, watch out for your pint, * la glin glou glon
Because if you drink too much, we'll put you in prison,
**La Bibournoise.
Because if you drink too much, we'll put you in prison
Far at the bottom of the cellar, barrels for my friends
So crack open the barrels, and you'll have enough to fill you up to the chin
You'd have to drink the pint, to get to the bottom
***The floor of the cellar, is in quarters of ham
The walls of the cellar, are lamb roasts
The hinges of the trap door, are turkey thighs
If you want to get out, you'll need ten yards of sausages

Five or six good men, to pull you from the bottom

**La Bibournoise, it's all green beans, beans
Beans, lard and oignons.
But isn't there the * glin glou glon, bon bon bon,
bon. bon, bon, darion darion darion, bon
Ho ! La Gargarançonne Bibournoise, bon bon,
Let's do the jump of the Gargarançonne Bibournoise.

* Glin glou glon, bon bon, darion darion - are just sounds people made when they sang, since they often accompanied their songs with wooden spoons or their metal jugs for drinking, it's just to keep the rhythm.

**Gargarançonne Bibournoise - I'm pretty sure that this could be the name of a type of folk song/dance in Quebec.

***References to meat, These are just old expressions. I'm not sure what every term means, but it might be a way for them to say that you're so drunk that you can't see straight, and all that's on your mind is meat, because all you ever had in that period of time is beans, lard and onions

La Gargarançonne Bibournoise is a character (maybe from the folklore but I never heard of it). Garançon is a last name, that might come from there.

Fassa probably knows this is a song from Genticorum, it's a local folk band.

Gli glou glon is an onomatopoeia for drinking.
Bon bon bon means "well well well", probably said in a cheery way.
Darion could be someone.
