Can anyone recommend some free compressor plugins?

Hi all,

As the title says really.

I'm new to the home recording game and wanted to know if anyone could recommend any decent free compressor plugins I can use with Gargeband

Any help would be great, cheers

I'd just do an internet search, but there aren't any compressor plugins that work better than a compressor before input.

Unless of course you’re trying to use a compressor in a different way than can be done on input.

Tokyo Dawn Kotelnikov and Molotok

All of the above have paid versions with more features, but they're all good usable plugins as they are. Kotelnikov especially is an amazingly flexible and good-sounding compressor to be giving away.

The new compressor that comes with GarageBand is superb. Be sure to keep GB up to date. The new EQs are pretty superb too.
