Fender-style instruments are the only basses I've ever been interested in, so regardless of their quality control, their more recent marketing tactics have really put me off the Fender name (Road Worn, 60th anniversary Pbass, American "Special" series, etc.)
I'd really like to know how their brainstorming sessions go. Maybe something akin to this portrayal of Dreamworks?

I don't think so. I think they'd be more likely to discontinue the MIM line over the Squier.
The MIM instruments are still very popular and profitable, and are still considered a step above the best of the Squier line(...)
Yeah, but I'd take the CV Jazz Bass over any MIM Standard Fender I've played through the years...
What I mean is - why is this even a question?
With that question in mind, would you still prefer the CV over an MIM Road Worn, or one of the Classic series J-Basses if you had a choice between the two?
