Can extended storage of a bass cabinet in a very hot storage building (like weeks at a time in the summer) do harm to the speakers?

I keep my cabs in my garage. in the summer even though the rest of the building is smoldering the garage is much cooler because of the concrete floor . . .

Back when I was at college my band rented out a storage unit for rehearsal... During the summer months it was 100+ outside for months straight. Pair that with aluminum siding and roof it was absolutely dreadful.

I used to worry about equipment, and then I started thinking about it.
Every single touring band has a trailer with their gear. In most cases, this trailer just sits out in the sun and bakes in the summer and freezes in the winter except for the times the rig is in the venue (maybe 5 hours a day).
Their gear appears to work well enough to continually do these tours, why shouldn't yours be alright as well?

I've spoke with engineers at Eminence about this in the past and their comment was that heat isn't too bad as long as it's not extreme. The big killer of the paper cone is high humidity.

My paranoid tendencies make me keep all my amps in temperature controlled conditions, around 75, except during use and transport. The speaker cabs do sit in my trailer most of the time, and I've never had any ill effects. My PJB and Yamaha digital equipment does recommend storage in moderate temperatures, and to avoid extreme hot and cold when storing.
I had problems with a speaker cab. after I started storing it outside in a trailer in our cold Wisconsin winters. I created issues with components in the crossover. It had had to be replaced at my cost from EA.......So I say yes.
I have kept my amp and cabs in my garage--surrounded on three sides by the house--for years with no issues, although I'm sure keeping them in the house would be better. The garage never freezes, but does get cold. Never gets really hot in summer, but is humid out there just like everywhere here in NC summertime. Never in full sun.

Good question. I would imagine your'e good up until the melting point of all the adhesives that hold the driver together, but I'll run it past my engineer at Eminence next week.
I don't know the temp in this storage building I am talking about, but I would think that it would have to get up to 110 on really, really hot days here (North Carolina).
110? Hot? Man I'm lucky if it's that cool in the shade here. Average temp in my garage in July through Sept. 140. Peak temp last year 156. We played the 4th of July last year...121 in the shade.
