One thing to add to this. If you want the vintage fender tone and get the metro, you almost certainly will want to add the vintage tone control (passive treble roll off - I think Roger and the boys will do it for around $150??). That is the one nob on my pre that I am tweaking constantly. I can't imagine why they didn't put it standard on the metros.

Yea, I do plan on adding that! Probably will buy it prewired from them and do it myself.

Good move. The pre sounds great, but it's boost only. I can't imagine wanting to roll off bass from song to song, so any adjustments there, I generally do from the racked preamp before, after sets, etc. But, the variety of tones you can get by changing the pickup blend and rolling the treble up or down is unbelievable.
