Can I still get La Bella 760QM Quarter rounds?

Hey guys,

So check this out. I was digging in an old box, found an old unused pack of brand new La Bella short scale quarter rounds. Not realizing these were DQ'd and were an EXACTomundo I needed, down to the 'quarter' and 'short' parts. Very hard to find. Why, I do not know. Same with Size S jackets not being the 'style women like'. But the sizes L and XXL's do. Grrr

Anyway, so I go to put them on. And, "Idiot alert". I had crisscrossed the low E and A strings. So as I CUT the E to the nearest tuner, I then realized that was actually the A string and I now cut it too short! *Idiot Alert*

Of all the times to do this. It's with the discontinued set. Yeah. Uh huh. Do I believe in God??? Sometimes, I actually believe in the Devil.

So here's what I did. *Genius*. I did one of those loop ties to both strings, did some boyscout knot and wrapped with tape. Boom. I salvaged a near disaster.

Only now got this ugly yellow tape there. Ugh. I'm a perfectionist. That one really kills me.


SO. To point of my post. "Anyone know where ta get em". Simple. No envelopes and post offices. Just credit card, shipping, fed ex, boom.

Yes that thread is just where I was goin with it. lol.

But I was just thinking, I might just try another set. It's hard finding good short scales that aren't flatwounds. I'm trying to get the most P sounding sound out of a short scale. So far everything sounds like a "cheap plastic toy" but using cheat software sort of works. Wheras a real P, just melts into the mix. I want that with my short. So experimenting with strings. So far, flats on SS are okay but I miss doin the funky slap.

You should try the GHS Balanced Nickels (pure nickel roundwound on a round core). According to @iiipopes, they're God's gift to short scale players.

I actually just ordered some Dunlop shorts. Super brights. Sounds appealing. I actually have GHS, both flat and rounds. TBH, I'm not like a real real bass player so I like them due to the purple nylon wrapping. Looks majestic.
But they do sound good. Just, man. "Those QUARTER rounds, tho". It's like how I like my steaks still bloody, but it's cooked just 1mm on the outsides. Barely raw in the middle. Honestly, I like the GHS flats better then the nickels. They're smooth.
