http://static.musiciansfriend.com/d...19_Jpg_Regular_H70377.001_white_headstock.jpg I really like the looks of these clover tuners that have a raised middle section. Can someone tell me who makes these and if they are easily found? I have a Yamaha BB1025X and it has the standard flat clover pegs. Would I be able to just do a simple swap? Thanks!
Choppers music on eBay has them, or similar. I have a set, they are open gear, made in Korea by Jin-ho and are very nice tuners. They use one screw on the (very heavy duty, finely cast) plate, but its at the top of the tuner. If yours are sealed, the screw is likely at the bottom. Check the size of hole you have, these need 19mm holes I think. Edit: just measured they take a 17mm hole: the ferrules are 16.8mm; barrels are 13mm. So an 11/16" hole will work. Thanks for the info, sir! I love the look, just wonder if its worth it in the long run. Thanks again!
They look like the el-crappo's that came on my SX. I replaced them with Grover Titans, because I also liked that raised hump in the middle. They look much better than the flat Fender style tuners. Grover Titan Bass Tuners
The old Schaller boron tuners that came on Fender American Deluxes in the '90's had the same type of key:
