Can you recognize this solid state preamp?

Hi folks,
this is my 1st post.
last night I saw a gig form Zu (jazzcore / grindcore / avantguarde / meltingface band from Rome, Italy)
the bass player ( massimo pupillo ) has a huge sound,
so I sneaked near his rig to take a pic of his gear.
I recognized two catalinbread stallion (in the bottom of the rig), an mxr octaver (in the very center of the rig), a whammy (guitar model) and a boss tuner (in top right of the rig), but there's a couple of things that I couldn't figure out.
the first is the solid state preamp (the one beside the mxr) which I know I saw somewhere, but I can't remember the name: it's an american discontinued preamp,
then there are two DIs that to me looked like radial, but I'm not sure about it.

I've attached the pic of the rig (that is very crappy cuz I shot it from a distance with the iphone) so, if anyone of you can recognize the missing pieces, it'll be very helpful.

yep I know, but, routing ur signal into a box could mean losing signal or clarity in it, or losing harmonics or both. so I think that even the DI box u choose is important ;)

Not with a true bypass like the 'thru' output on a Radial JDI. I've compared the wave forms of the 'thru' output on mine into my recording interface, to my bass straight into the interface (i.e. identical input signal captured at the same time) and there's no difference. No rolloff, no loss of clarity, etc.

If you use the Tronographic as a preamp (plugged directly into a power amplifier) using the line out, then you can use the main output jack as a DI- just make sure you use a balanced cable! Since the pedal is essentially a clone of an old Traynor solid-state preamp, it has all the ins and outs that the preamp had, including a fully balanced DI output.

It actually has more ins and outs. The line out is the same as the original circuit: capacitor coupled, unbalanced, and before the master volume.

The Rusty Box adds the post-master volume, balanced line out. The Traynor didn't have that.

I stand corrected- I guess the Traynor had its heyday before PAs were typically used for sound reinforcement purposes, so a DI out would be unlikely!
