Canadian ?? about Guitar Center

I live in Ontario...meaning we don't have Guitar Centers. I hear a lot about these stores and their website has a ton of gear. I'd like to know how big their physical stores actually are. Is pretty much everything on their site in their stores??

Would it be worth a 3 hour ( i dunno how close the closest one is...thats prolly a high guess, i hope ) drive to check one out?? Are there bigger music stores than gc in the usa? The biggest music stores locally have maybe 30 basses.

Thanks everybody

30 !
count yourself lucky!

here in australia, i've got two local stores.

one has about 8 basses. 5 squier's 2 corts (all "beginner" models) and a 'vintage' brand fretless.

the other has a couple of really nice fenders, G&L's and MM S.U.B but they're all on consignment, and they've been there forever because the owners want too much for them.

I don't know what's on GC's website, but my local GC had maybe 60 basses in stock when I was there last, several of which were duplicates of the same bass, so that's not really that much more than what you have locally. The physical size of my local GC isn't all that impressive, either. If there's something on their main site you're interested in I'd call whichever GC is closest to you and see if they have it in stock before making a long trip.
