True, I suppose. I believe they came up here so their guitar player could avoid the Viet Nam war draft, and their career took off while they were up here. They recorded at Mushroom in Vancouver. They spent enough time up here that we've claimed them. I forgot they were technically from Seattle, since I remember them playing my high school (ca. 1975)

...We'd claim Hendrix, too, if we could.

I can name at least THREE Tragically Hip tribute bands here in Vancouver. The biggest one (The Hip Show) features my last lead singer. (The Hip Replacements, The Radically Hip are the other two)

The LOL was meant for Texan's "Terrance & Phillip" comment. Someone squeezed another post in there while I was typing.

This thread seems to be morphing into a "name that Canadian band" thing... The OP asked about which bands & songs each of us have covered.

I keep seeing songs mentioned and it reminds me... "Hey! I used to play that!"
