Canadian shielding tape suplier

First off, you can use aluminum ducting foil tape, you just have to fold corners to ensure contact and it's more of a pain to solder, but it works and is widely available.

Long and McQuade can order you the diMarzio copper foil shielding tape, but in the end, with the price and amount you get, its actually cheaper to buy stewmac stuff and have it shipped.

Lee Valley tools also carries "Slug Repellent" copper foil tape, but it has regular acrylic adhesive backing, not conductive adhesive, so you have to solder the joins and test for continuity the same way you have to with aluminum tape - its just much easier to solder.

If you have a local industrial supply store of some kind that is a 3M distributor, they should be able to order in the 3M stuff, but beware that you may have a minimum purchase that again makes stewmac cheaper. I ordered it in from an electronics supply in Edmonton when I lived there but that's a long time ago (mid-90s) - and I had to get so much that I still have two rolls left... :)

I would order a pint of the shielding paint from Stewmac. It works as well as the tape, and its an easier application. Not to mention you can also shield the wiring tunnels between the cavity and pickup cavities

Ive been looking everywhere for it in Australia and a friend who is a landscape gardener suggested stuff called "Slugga" which is a 1" copper tape that is used around pot plants to keep slugs and snails away. I found a 10 metre roll at the local hardware shop dirt cheap. Worked a treat!

i thought "canadian shielding tape" was a gag description for, i dunno, aluminum foil from the grocery store.

you know, like a "canadian tuxedo":
