Cannot believe this

My wife surprised me with a gift you probably read about in here. She bought me a new Donner Jazz bass a very nice bass. Well I was playing it and I notice it needed intonation done. And it had a little bow in the neck . Well they never sent me any tools with it. So I took it to a very good Luthier friend of mine in Austin. And we couldn’t find a Truss Rod tool that would fit . We could find anything that would fit. I didn’t want to stick anything in there and strip it. So I text Donner 3 are 4 times they just tell me they are sorry I am having the problem , so I asked them can you just send are sale me the Truss Rod tool that will fit. I said what if I needed a new neck could you sale a new neck. All I get is the run around. The guitar a bought from them the Stratocaster type is cool know problem glad I got my American Telecaster though. The bass plays but it just bugs me I guess . My main bass is a 32 year old Ibanez MIJ SR800 which I love and keep in almost mint condition. I got an old Fender MIM neck I am going to see if it will fit, if not I have a kid who wants to trade me a short scale Ibanez for it.

Is the truss rod an Allen wrench type of nut? If so, just run to the hardware store and buy a set of metric and standard allen wrenches. One should fit.

I had a similar issue with my Dingwalls because both were bought used and neither came with the truss allen. Dingwall uses a very peculiar size allen key that doesn’t come in a normal set of allens.

i can't believe it either. something don't add up. anway, here is pic from a reverb ad that listed a donner bass with a truss rod tool. looks like a regular ol' allen wrench to me ~ myself, i'd ask someone else to take a look at the bass.
