cant decide on pickups

Several options in my opinion. Here they are:

EMG
Duncan
Dimarzio
Delano

I'm not sure do nordy pickups sound aggressive or not but i know they produce better vintage type of tone.

When it comes to aggressive sound first come in mind is EMG and Dimarzio. EMG is more active type and dimarzio is passive but it is very hot pickup.

Delano is better than Duncan in MY OPINION because it have more mid that the duncan lack of.

How much are delano though? I only found one and it was selling for 300+. I didnt want to spend that much. I was hoping to spend under 150$ on p bass pickups. Are there any sound clips of the emgs and the nordstrand np4s so I could compair? I dont mind an active like tone as long as it stays passive. I hate the seymore duncan spb3 I have in my p bass now but it was an improvement over stock.

The EMG is active pickup. Require a 9v battery to power the internal preamp for those pickups. Pots need replacing to 25k pots to suit those EMG pickups but pots a provided when buying the pickups.

If you like passive you better look into the one i said before but exclude EMG.

Passive EMG pickups are really bad according to some ppl, EMG is well known for active pickup.

Delano pickup will sell much more than others in US because is made in german just like EMG sell more over here in UK. They are good pickups and they receive good review in TB members. But since your budget is around $150 i will consider nordy or dimarzio.

Can't go wrong with dimarzio pickups, i use the jazz one myself on a fender J and it is really aweson. High output, bassy pickup and nice growl. I never try the nordy so can't help you on that one.

I use the delano P before i sold my bass. Nice pickup and i definite will use them again if i ever own a p bass again.

I cant decide. Its between the nordstrand np4 and the active emg p bass pickup. I cant really find much information on the emg. You tube has videos of someone using emg soapbars and they sound great. Sound clips would really help right now. I think right now Im leaning towards the nordstrand just because its still passive and I dont really want to deal with batterys. Hollowman can you post a sound clip for me?
