Can't get my Mooger Fooger LP dialed in.

I'm having trouble getting my moog low pass filter dialed in. The envelope effect gets lost in the mix when I'm playing with a full band. I've tried multiple basses and amps. Anyone else have this issue? Please help.

The thing is, most of the "dialing" has to come from you carefully controlling the filter by how you play the strings. You can set the knobs any "best" way, and still not sound right if you don't play the filter by playing the bass in the way that triggers the filter properly.

What are your settings?

I have almost the opposite issue with mine, I use it mainly in quiet parts, and occasionally hit a little to hard and it spikes in volume. If your only getting lost in the mix when its on, perhaps you need to turn the drive up? That should make the effect as a whole louder. Are you playing well below the cutoff frequency?

I haven't tried using the drive. I have tried using my big muff with it but the filter sweep is way different with it. It combo is cool but I need the clean envelope sound too. If the cut off is to low I get nothing but a super muddy signal.

Try it with the drive set about noon, that should boost the level of the effect some, and shouldnt produce much in the way of distortion. The drive is your main volume level on this pedal.

Set the cutoff to taste, mines usually around 250 (9 oclock) but it all depends on your playing style, same with the amount.

Try this:

Amount and mix at full
Switches at Fast and 2 pole
Resonance at 3 o'clock
Drive just so the env LED lights up red when hitting a note
Cutoff somewhere 9-11 o'clock

For extra envelope effect, put a cord between Env Out and Cutoff, that way you add to the effect via CV i/o.
