That is the only downside to the EHX pedals, lack of on-the-fly switchability.
I really like what EHX is doing especially with the "9" series and their pitch/filter pedals but having to manually switch and adjust settings makes using them live difficult. This is IMO a serious flaw with the "9" pedals implementation, basically synth modules without switchable presets/scenes.

A friend/bandmate has a B9 and you are correct. We have to wait on him when switching between different organ models.

Yep, same here.
EHX needs to adapt some type of MIDI interface for these pedals but now it's most likely a moot point.
A real shame and missed opportunity for EHX in my opinion.
I still really like these pedals and will probably end up getting the series at some point.

I'm not sure why they didn't just do how the did the POG2. Id still be interested in trying the superego+. Looks pretty fun.

Price points, guys. Maybe some of you would pay whatever they asked for one with all that increased functionality, but $250 is really pushing the price envelope as it is.

On my basic small board I have a Superego send/return into a Mel9 (usually set to clarinet), a Rainbow Machine and a TC Spectracomp. Using the Rainbow Machine there was revolutionary because it makes the sound move and evolve like some kind of sound fountain. I've used a ring modulator there too for very rocking massive metalic structures. As amazing as I'm sure it is, I'll have to try this newfangled SE and think about if I need it, but it would have to go on the 2nd aux delay board along with the existing Digitech PDS8000, Charlie Foxtrot and Red Panda Particle...maybe a TC Looper 2 for Fripertronics and I'll have no more g.a.s. evar

To those who can't imagine a use for it, you can actually now fire the idiot keyboard player who walks on your bass lines because of an arrangement he can't unlearn.

There is this mysterious jack for a 3-button controller but we have no info on what it could control. So maybe 3 presets? Anyway, I'm totally getting one. Original superego is one of my all time favourite effects and the individual attack/decay knobs on the + are a feature I always wanted. It's just totally amazing.

The new one looks/sounds amazing though.

One thing — I didn't like the Rotary. On chords it sounded like kacka, sort of ok on single notes. Would like to hear a bass demo with rotary.

Unfortunately, no. It just duplicates the functionality of the existing 3 footswitches. Seems rather pointless to me.

EXT (External Control) Jack Use a TRS three-button external/auxiliary switch (such as the DigiTech® FS3X) to remotely control the Superego+ footswitches. To connect the external switch, unplug power from Superego+, connect the external switch to the EXT jack and then apply power. If you’re handy at DIY, you could build your own footswitch based on the following circuit diagram: The switch connected to the TIP+RING of the external footswitch behaves like the BYPASS footswitch. Use this control to remotely switch the Superego+ on and off. This switch will also control triggers in LATCH mode. The switch connected to the RING controls the EFFECT footswitch. This switch can be used to remotely turn on and off the Superego+ internal effects. The switch connected to TIP works as a MODE selector and an EFFECT off switch. A single press is the equivalent of double tapping the BYPASS footswitch to enter bypass when the Superego+ is in SUSTAIN, AUTO, or LATCH mode. To change modes, press and hold the TIP+RING switch; the Superego+ will slowly cycle through the 5 modes. Release the footswitch to select the currently lit mode.

Man, I walked in here thinking "Superego is already perfect as is, anything they could add to it would be gimmicky and useless."

Turns out I was wrong. The memory and expression pedal on their own would have been fairly unimpressive, but the fact that you can use one to control the other is a mindblower.

Unfortunately, I don't have the real estate for the increased form factor, let alone the expression pedal, so I'll be passing on this...unless I buy one strictly for bedroom use.

That or a guitarist that can't control the low notes when he is using the EHX B9.

Actually that is a very useful feature, it means you can mount the pedal on a stand/platform so it can be easily reached and adjusted by hand while keeping the activation footswitches on the pedalboard.

Happy to report that this pedal is everything that it's cracked up to be. Perhaps a footswitch for presets would be the icing on the cake, but at this price point, you can't ask for much more; you get a bit of that functionality from the expression pedal anyhow.

It’s a roided up Superego with a little multieffect thrown in. I hadn’t even noticed there was a pitch shifter as one of the effects prior to ordering- it’s polyphonic and basically sounds just like the POGs so it takes the place of one of those too.

Looks badass to me and the price seems just fine for what it is. Wish I could fit it on the board. Don’t think I could commit to replacing anything I already have with it though.

I just got mine, after buying the first version twice. The + solves my biggest issue with the original, losing effects to use in the loop. Love the delay, and all three mod effects, and expression control is the icing. Also, having control over threshold, attack and decay makes the actual effect so much more useable. A+
