capacitor , in series or parallel ??

Did some extensive work on my old Peavey foundation bass . changed all the pickups and even added on Ala Ebo style,....
only not a mudbucker . want to add two .047 caps to the tone control to equal .94 that should be done in series ??? ,......Yes ??
Somebody told me to place them on paralell , but some how I thought resistance doubles in serie ,.....Right ??

Parallel adds cap values.

Resistors in series = added together,

Capacitors in PARALLEL = added together.

What Glenn and Alberto said is correct - and it's the same as what that page says. What part is confusing?
