Capo use during setup?

ha! that's neat. works good for a soft nylon string classical with a flat fretboard -maybe not so good for a stiff stringed bass on a radiused board.

capos are cheap though and by the time one cogitates on multitudes of work-arounds, amazon could deliver one to your door.

Works for me. It just has to push the string down on the fret, not make a clean note like you expect from a capo.

Anyway, the E string needs the most room to vibrate so set relief for it; worrying about relief on the G side is futile. It is what it is when the E side reads .010-.015”

I bought a Kyser 12 string capo... plenty of tension for a bass setup, and plenty wide as well... I use it for both 4 (1.5", at nut) and 5 string setups (1.75", at nut).
