I have two of those in my fretless build that I did last summer and they sound amazing, passive or active.
Are you planning to add the switch for series parallel single?

I may buy a push/pull pot or add a switch, don’t know yet. I have it wired in series and it sounds great.

Just weighed the bass. 3150g. I ordered the knobs, push/pull pot and gig bag. I have to change the black jack from another (non black) bass to this one.

Like everything in luthiery. Sanding. Checking. Sanding. Checking. No machines, just hand sanding with long block. This kind of build is mostly sanding because you can’t use shaving tools.

Yesterday I made a new nut from Richlite. I tested flatwound strings but didn’t like the sound. Back to roundwound.

I cleaned up the garage from spraying and took some pics. Just light sanding with maybe 4000 grit to remove the few dust nibs and polishing. No runs this time.

Is the marbling effect part of the top layer of CF?

Absolutely love the bass. You make working with composites look so easy! Almost like magic.

Yes, it’s called forged carbon. Small pieces of cf tow, not a weave as usually.
