What a beauty!

Can I ask a question about the bridge?

I don't understand how you can have good intonation on a fretted instrument with a fixed bridge like this. I've never seen the saddles on an adjustable bridge in a straight line like this bridge which leads me to wonder about the intonation. I can see it working fine for fretless since your fingers handle the intonation.

If the bridge is held by the strings you can adjust intonation; if it's fixed you're forced to use the same gauge of strings the bass came with.

Finally!!!! Someone has said the right words!!! "Ready to gig it." Most people would put up on a pedestal, and play it with gloves woven from a virgin's pubic hair. I'd gig it 'til the wheels fell off.

Kind of confused how you would adjust the action though since the bride doesnt really have any saddles to move? Is it completely reliant on adjusting the neck?

With something like that, I assume you just bring it back to Carl every time you need a setup!

Ok, I have other basses with this kind of wood bridge , this is the way I do :

1) For me once you set up the action (for your way of playing) you 'll never need to change it again. So you'll need Gauged Nut Slotting files . This way you'll produce round-bottom bridge slots that will give you the action you need. With patience you can do this by yourself. You can buy these Nut Slotting through Stu Mac Donald's web site.

2) If you are that kind of player that are always in doubt about strings action, I'll assume that you're really in trouble LOL !

My dearly missed CT bass had the same type of bridge, and played better in tune than any bass I've had since. The truss rod was not touched the entire time I owned it.

Amazing… like all your basses! tell me what bass you use on the 'Mandou bem' videoclip… at the end of the clip you appear playing a bass that looks like a CT but in the Headstock there is another logo.
