I'll take Brian's word for it since he was actually there. There were two bass parts...one by Ray Puhlman, one by Carol.

Hell, I liked her for Hogan's Heroes alone. That ridiculously simple "oom pah pah" bass line played all dry and with a pick, was one of the first songs that made me very aware of bass guitar, and it just had a cool sound to it.

She used Fender Flatwounds on all her Fenders according to her site.....

But she didn't exclusively use Fender basses.......she also at one point used a Gibson as well as an Aria.

And for all you pick "naysayers".............she's a pick user to this day.........."quote":- "Never used my fingers because I never had to. The pick sound can be easily EQ'd out of the mix".

Interesting observation by her that the term "funky" actually referred to the smell of old socks back in the day...and that "funk" was originally called "Boogaloo".........and that much of "Funk"
actually came from Samba.......

and that........most of the studio session rock musicians back then that were good came from a jazz background......using chordal notes primarily......whereas today's rock musicians do not have a jazz background at all.......so tend to use a scale structure instead of a chordal note structure.


and that.......they were never known as The Wrecking Crew at the time......they never called themselves that.....the term was a later fabrication.
