First message. Since the first of the year I've developed a bad case of CTS in my right (plucking) hand. Middle finger totally numb and painful; index finger numb to the first knuckle. I'm scheduled to have surgery next month to release the nerve. My question is; have any of you gone through this surgery and come out OK (OK being able to tell you have your finger on a string with no or at least less pain)? Don't mind saying I'm more than a little scared. Thanks.

I'm having similar issues in both wrists except for numbness. I am scheduled to get it checked out next week, don't know if that will happen with what's going on right now. Good luck and am curious as to how it goes.
I had it done years ago on both wrists at the same time. I never gave it a second thought as far as use was concerned.
My CTS started up real bad after I spent a few days installing huge 12" pipe elbows and tightening 1" bolts by hand using a 1-5/16" opened end and a 2' long 3/4" drive ratchet. Then used an impact gun to drive in about 80 3/4" bolts...
Now my thumb, index, and middle fingers of both hands go numb even when I just hold the steering wheel of my truck...

Apparently it can be dormant until aggravated by a traumatic event like your impact gun; mine was a badly vibrating weed whacker.
Well, I had the nerve test done and have moderate CTS in both wrists. Went to the orthopedist 3 weeks ago and discovered severe arthritis in both thumbs where they meet the hand. Bone to bone contact and that is where most of my pain comes from. Scheduled surgery for September to do my right wrist, and try to do left before the end of the year. Yippee!

Start taking Osteo-Biflex and it will dramatically help until you can get surgery done.
I'll look into that. I just wonder if that will give me relief from the bone to bone. That seems to be where I get the most pain. It's not all the time, but when it hits, it hits hard and sharp! Thanks for the info.
