+2 for the Subaru Forester (XT, wife's car) and a nod to my Subaru Legacy GT wagon. Bass, and plenty of extra gear, fits really easily in either wagon.

Plus, turbo all wheel drive cars guarantee you get to the gig very quickly no matter what the weather!

I think the Skoda mentioned earlier probably gets it, but here in the US, I used to haul mine in my first car, a Rambler American with reclining seats, and my Corvair convertible, with the rear window zipped out and the neck sticking out the opening. Hauled it in an original 1976 Honda Civic and a Renault LeCar, too. Current ride is a Mazda Tribute- sister ship to a Ford Escape.

Believe it or not, a Honda Ridgeline truck. Not in the bed, but in the passenger compartment. I recline the front passenger seat all the way, then put the bass in from the left back door. It works, and there is room for other stuff, but no room for passengers. I've also carried by bass in the bed on short trips, but the tailgate has to be dropped down and straps put across the end of the bass to keep it from sliding out! Not the best bass hauler!

Saab 900 (one of the newer ones, ca. 1997; 9-3 should be similar) :

fold down the rear seat and I can fit my 7/8 Christopher, AI Contra, Stool, Stand and significant-sized case with all my real books. All this with having clear sightlines through the read window.

Can't yet figure how to fit my SuperRedhead with my Christopher, but I've not needed something that powerful yet...

Sounds like Honda Element is the way to go when you need to haul more than one extra passenger for any distance.

I do it with just the 2/3 but lately I have been seeing some marks on it because I put it in wrong, but it fits perfect. My advice is (what I'm going to do from now on) fold the whole thing down when ever you simply want to carry the bass or with one more person but if you want to carry two (its not uncomfterble its very doable) just put it in normally and then flip up the 1/3 side

Do you have an automatic? I have an '04 Cooper S and I can't fit the 3/4 bass down the center and still shift. If I put the passenger seat forward, I can run the neck of the bass down the right side of the passenger seat (btw the seat and door). This leaves room for my Acoustic Image speaker and amp behind the driver's seat and if I need my 2nd speaker cabinet, it fits on the passenger seat beside me. Works great, I can still see out of the back and both mirrors. I do lose a little visibility in the right rear so I have to be careful passing.

I do get some funny looks from people when I pull the bass out of the back of the car. It looks like the bass is bigger than the car.
