carvin b1500 through schroeders

received my b1500 fri and got to play it live sat night. With a little tweaking i think i am going to like this head.I ran it through my2 schroeder 210-12 light cabs and it was not hard to dial in a good tone.got it up to about 3 and that was plenty for a full blown (indoor )rock show.every note was clear everywhere on the neck,it was punchy when i needed it and it growled when i needed it.The soundman said the sound out on the floor was awesome and he ended up taking me out of the mix,he said the sound was clear and carried very well from the rig itself.jorg and most of you were right ,the carvin b1500 and the schroeder cabs seem to be a very good match.:bassist:

I would say that if Jorg recommends the B1500 and he uses it with his own cabs, that would be more than enough for me to pick one up!

glad you're enjoying it!

and instead of the LM, how about the bx500! probably could find similiar tones with those amps and have the same sounding rig anywhere you go!

Sorry, but I doubt it. The B1500 has a heavy feel that I doubt the bx500 can duplicate.

I am seriously considering the bx500.Have been hearing thatthere r some problems with them,i dont know what to make of that.I will probably try them both in live settings and make a choice.how do you like yours so far, played out with it yet?

unforunetly not. playing with the band tomorrow and shows all next week so it'll get it's own.

and BASSIST, on the bx500 mega thread, people refered to the bx500 as cutting through and the b1500 as PUSHING through, so undoubtedly the extra power would wield different results. but, as far as tonal structure goes, I wouldn't be suprised if the bx is closer than a LM at nailing the tone the OP likes.

Edit: Also, no problems with my bx yet. And Carvin has been good with helping owners who've had them.

The B1500 IMO has a lot stronger, heavier in the mix, sound to it than the BX500. I was excited to say the least when I saw Carvin release the BX500 and I was one of the first people on TB to get one but it didn't sound the way I wanted it to. The BX500 was just too thin sounding for my needs.

The BX500 and the LMII are quite a bit different from one another and they are both different than the B1500. The BX500 has the crispness and clarity that the B1500 has, while the LMII has some of the "large" amp sound and thickness that the B1500 has.

They are all great amps but the B1500 fits my needs better. I am playing mostly through the GB ShuttleMax 12 now but I don't see myself selling my B1500 anytime soon, it's just a great amp.

Mike, I was the first person on TB to get the BX500 and mine has worked flawlessly since day 1. I've played many different venues with it since and am very pleased with the ability to be able to dial in my sound at any gig, the EQ sections are very nice to have.;)
