Carvin Basses?

If those Carvin basses had a boutique price, I'll bet they'd have a lot more fans. I've always thought they priced their products too low to be taken seriously.

I worked at Carvin in the early 1980's, my first job in pro-audio. It is a great company, a family business. They are always finding new ways to improve their quality. Mark runs the guitar department and never stops trying new things. They only build about 1,000 instruments per year.

Mark would cut the neck off any guitar that had the slightest defect. I made him sell me a guitar that had a tiny bit of paint overspray on the side of the fretboard, honest, you had to get the light just right to even see it. It took him a few days to decide if he'd even let me buy it for a discount. He worried that someone might see it and think less of his guitars because of it.

I now own an Icon-4 and a Roscoe SKB-3005. The quality of the Carvin is absolutely on par with the Roscoe.

Wow, that's impressive. I've got the LB75AP Anniversary and I'll tell you, it's easily built with the quality of a 3K stick. You point that their prices are too low, is a very unique and different angle on why their not taken so serious around here.;)

do any of you have a walnut with maple striped neck on your lb76 or lb75 so i can see how it looks? carvin didnt have any photos of this option i ordered.

( not the common maple with walnut stripes, rather, the other way i ordered it with mostly walnut with maple accent stripes )
