I've got an older Carvin Pro Bass 500 that came packaged with Carvin's 2x10 w/ horn, and a 1x15. For Gigs, I use it all in Bi'amped mode, and I like it just as well as big Ampeg and SWR rigs I've had the chance to play through.
For practice and small sessions, I go lighter, and bring just one cabinet, with the amp in full range mode (and just using one side, 250 Watts). I've tried with both the 1x15 and the 2x10, but I prefer the 2x10, since it gives a fuller range of sound. I either adjust the EQ, or just push the "Deep" Button, and it fills right out.
I don't know if the cabinet is precisely the same as the BR 210, but I imagine it's very similar, and IMO it's a winner. More Boom than I'd have expected from a small package. Unless you need to compete with a gang of guys playing louder than you'd want to subject your ears to, it should do the trick.
That said, I'm not someone with money or experience with Boutique stuff, so I can't comment on tone comparison with that kind of thing.
