Carvin Icon series: where the luv @?

Seen alot of threads about just about every bass I've ever heard of, but where's the love for Icons at? My icon is a work of art. This bass is a masterpiece: solid construction, beautiful finish, thick growly tone, and completely customizable. Can I get an amen from some of you?

here is some Icon love:

Icon 4

I had a 4 string for a short while that I traded for. Cool bass, and if it was a 5er I may have kept it. I do prefer bolt on necks usually though.

I love my Icon 6.

I LOVE Carvin basses, my #1 is a BB75, but I just don't like the look of the Icon series. I'm sure they play great, all the other Carvins I've played and owned do, but the shape doesn't do it for me unfortunately.

Anyway, what spec is yours? How many strings, asymetrical neck, woods/pickups,etc?

edit: You'll also find lots of Carvin love here: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/official-carvin-club-437487/

By the way, I just replaced the pickups in my Icon 6 pictured above to J99As and took it to rehearsal for the first time afterward last night. WOW. Those are some great sounding pickups. Punchy, growly, articulate. Cut through the band like butter. I love them. They make a great bass even better. It is perfect now.

Took pics, but can't find the USB adapter for my camera. I'll post them soon. It's a four string, black walnut with quilted maple top, umber stain, abalone block inlays, ebony board, all black hardware. It's pretty classy looking. That walnut is sexy, toad!

Got one coming fresh from Carvin in about a week or so. I'm not worried about the bass itself, it will be spot on nice. What is concerning is the resale. Mine will cost $1700.

If I put it on Fee Bay a day after I get it I might be lucky to get a grand based on what I've seen lately. Ridiculous, especially for such a great instrument. Resale is the only reason I could foresee returning it for. I truly hope its "the one" and sweeps me off my feet. If not, I may not be able to afford keeping it since I know I'll eventually sell it (like I've done sooooo many times before)

:hmm::hmm::hmm:

Cool :) I've got those soapbar sized J99A's on my todo list for my Bunny. I love the way they sound in all those SB clips

Carvin's return policy quite nice. You can return it within 10 day, and you'll only be out the shipping costs. If you sell it as opposed to returning it, yes, you'll take a big hit.

Of course, this is also why Carvins are one hell of a deal on the used market. :D

Yes, I'm aware of the return policy. What I really meant was if I decided to keep but then wanted to sell it later then I'm screwed. But seems lately there's a lot of buzz about Carvins TB. I'm reading more of players keeping them than selling them. I hope the ICON is good as it seems.

Supposed to ship next week. Will post pics . . .

Here is my Icon 6. It was featured in the Carvin catalog about a year ago. I picked it up from the in-stock section on the Carvin website. I have an Icon5 also, but no good pics. Beautiful walnut though.
