To be honest, I had the same impression when I got mine. After a little work on the nut, and some experimenting with different strings, (DR Highbeams really shine) it all came together for me.
That could be it. I think they use a 12" radius on their basses. I'm used to playing Rickenbackers though. I think a Rick is 10" radiused, not much different.
12" is standard, but you can choose 10", 12", or 14" when ordering.
Seen alot of threads about just about every bass I've ever heard of, but where's the love for Icons at? My icon is a work of art. This bass is a masterpiece: solid construction, beautiful finish, thick growly tone, and completely customizable. Can I get an amen from some of you?

GAS.That, and I just get along better with a 20 or 21 fret neck.

It's super cool, really a beauty, and I can't believe how well it is balanced...great quality!
