We've been using a pair of the 1503's for years but out guitarist snagged a pair of the JBL's in a "panic sale". They look really nice but I'm of the impression that these JBL budget / entry-level offerings may be a tad shy in terms of performance. I've had no first-hand experience with the enclosures and don't plan to expend any time, energy, or other resources if they don't merit the effort.

So, what's the good (or bad) word? Should I give the JBL's a whirl or stick with the Carvins? Neither will go unused as we have a satellite karaoke rig which could stand a new pair of boxes. FTR, the 1503's or JRX 125's will be used as tops only as we have a crossover & subs. Your collective opinion is always appreciated!

The JRXs are made to appeal to idiots like your drummer who were impressed by the JBL badge. I have never heard the carvins but since it is a 3-way cab it should sound way better. I would use the 125s for the karaoke gig unless you own a boat.:D
