I know this was not one of the options, but if you buy used; you can pick up a Mike Lull P5 which is a far superior instrument. They are 35" scale, but I have never found it to be an issue, though it is for some. A used Lull P5 can be found for around $1500.
I've always wanted to play one of those Lulls, as I hear nothing but great reviews. But I'm kinda off 35" 5'ers... In what ways was your Lull better than the Carvin you owned, and which models of each did you have?
