Did you get a new neck from Carvin or did you have a 3rd party do the work? How about some sound clips?
3rd Party. The new neck would have been $250. As it turns out the conversion cost me about 1/2 that. I'll work on some sound clips...

You know its funny I did the same thing. Kinda held back on my first order. Then the second order I went all out... and didn't like it, sent it back. My most recent SB5000 order was even more plain than my first and I like it even more
Now I find myself eying something like this:

I have gone back and forth on getting another SB or going with a B40 as well. Only change I would make would be to go with the traditional 2X2 headstock to mimic the Wal bass I've always wanted. Hog body, Walnut top, matching HS, double soaps, Rose with Blocks = sweetness
But I just dig the SB too much, the B-series just gets knocked down to "maybe next time" status.
Check out the Brian Bromberg model for something a similar, but different. Equally compelling. I'd be hard pressed to pick an SB5000 over a BB25 or vice versa. Somewhat differnent, but both basses look like incredible instruments, affordable for the 'common man' like me.![]()
It's just a matter of principle now. If this guy hadn't made such a big deal about it, stalked me all across the forum, I probably would have put it in there. But at this point, I'm not putting it in the ad and letting my stalker win.
I deleted those posts because I knew what his next step was. He was going to start taking those posts and putting them in my for sale ads. Think I am wrong? Then why did he notice I edited the posts? Stalker.
I've been selling gear online for a decade. I've seen these kinds of guys before. They are the unofficial forum police in their minds but in reality, just a forum stalker. And I just don't put up with that kind of BS.
I believe my original response to your first thread was "You might want to disclose that this bass is made up of a neck from one SB5000 and the body of a second one." That was it.It's just a matter of principle now. If this guy hadn't made such a big deal about it, stalked me all across the forum, I probably would have put it in there..
