Carvin SB5000 / SB4000 Roll Call...Part 8!

I just picked this up in a trade and I love it after only about 2 hours of playing. It is my 4th Carvin bass but my 1st Sekou Bunch:

Just ordered this -- needed (I mean wanted) a fretless. Hard to beat the price. What do you think? I can make edits until tomorrow!

Love surf green. Only change I would make if it were mine would be black pickups. I think the cream looks good to set off a maple fretboard, but ebony plus white pearl PG plus cream PUs might clash. Just my opinion, I'm sure we have different tastes. It's what makes Carvin so fun to order from!

Oh, also... cream truss plus pearl PG?

Thanks for the input. I do think the cream PU covers and cream truss rod cover can work with the pearl PG and ebony fretless board...talked to Keith about it as well. They would also be easy and inexpensive changes if I hated it. I'm also hoping the traditional headstock will look good. That I can't change! I can't get into the SB headstock on the 4 strings including on the SB4000 I own.

Can't wait to see it. That's why I love these boards and over at the Carvin boards... seeing others' ideas come to life. Especially the ones I wouldn't have thought of!

And I'm with you on the headstock. Not a big fan of the paddle. I got the icon hs on my SB5000, and think it looks great. Pictures in my NBD post in this very thread - http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?p=14417032

Great looking bass. I like the clear guard FWIW. Tort would be sweet too.

I have been playing my SB5000 for about 7 months now, and I LOVE this thing.
for anyone looking to hear a live sound, here is a little mp3 we recorded live from a local band in Toronto, Canada.
it was recorded off the floor with a TASCAM recorder.
its a salsa tune originally recorded by Jerry Rivera, and Ruben Rodriguez on bass. (da man!) hope you like and sorry for the screw ups, this band hasn't rehearsed for at least a year :)

What's it like playing music with such good singers and musicians ? This is just amazing stuff and I have to say that latin bass lines are just so unique and unpredictable compared to the stuff I've played. Beautiful stuff.

Btw, here's my new(to me) SB5001
