I see a lot of nice Carvins on eBay with ridiculous asking prices. I've seen some used basses with higher asking prices than what they cost new.

It's true. I sold an anniversary series LB75A for about $400 a few years ago. I paid about $1,100 or $1,200 for it. I only sold it for that ridiculous price because I needed the money. I still regret that. It was the nicest bass i've ever owned.

It's not that bad, considering the beautiful flame top and birdseye fretboard. That bass would probably run what, like $1500 new, so in mint condition (or so he says) and with shipping included, $1250's not that bad. Especially with a free matching teal leather strap. Is it on the high end of what they go for used? Absolutely. But look at that thing. It's gorgeous! It's when you see the used ones for $1600 that you really have to wonder what they're thinking.

Edit: and it's sold now. That's good news for the Carvin resale market!

Not really, if someone want one without the wait it may be worth it to them. I'm one of those who pay sometime to much for used stuff.
